Tol A$$ Mo got to hang out with two of the finest brothers in the DJ’ing industry, Twins on Decks and they made a Gourmet Steak Masala Gatsby!
1x French Loaf
500g Thinly Sliced Steak
1x Large Onion Sliced
1x TSP Tomato Paste
2x TSP Crushed Garlic
2x TSP Crushed Cumin
1x TBSP Paprika
2x Bay Leaves
250ml Olive oil
BIG Portion Fried Chips
1 Head of Iceberg Lettuce Shredded
1x Large Tomato thinly Sliced
½ Sliced Cucumber
1x Hand Full Grated Cheese
Tomato sauce and Mustard or any other sauces of your choice
Take all of your dry ingredients, along with your garlic and mix them with your olive oil. This will be the marinade for your meat.
Take your meat, if it’s too thick, use a tenderising mallet to tenderise it to about 5mm. If you have a pice of fillet or whole sirloin, slice it thinly and place it in the marinade for a couple of hours or overnight.
In a frying pan, fry off your onions until golden brown, Add your marinated meat and fry off gently. Add your teaspoon of tomato paste and place your lid n the pan and cook for 15-20 minutes
While your meat is busy cooking, get your chips fried off in a pot of oil. Once fried, place them on the side and they will be used to stuff the Gatsby later.
Finely slice your tomatoes and cucumber.
Take your lettuce head and shred it with a sharp knife.
Make your Gatsby come alive! Take your French loaf and cut it open. Place a layer of shredded lettuce on the base of your French loaf, followed by slices of tomato and cucumber.
Once you have done this, take your slices of beef and place it on top of your tomatoes and cucumbers. Add your freshly fried chips along with your grated cheese.
For a slight twist, set your oven to grill and place it under the grill until the cheese has melted, add any of your favourite sauces & enjoy!
