Nomhle Nkonyeni passes on
The veteran actor who played the role of the feisty Lulama Langa on e.tv’s daily soapie Scandal!, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 10 July at the age of 77.
“e.tv is deeply saddened by the news and our condolences go out to Nomhle Nkonyeni’s family and the cast and crew of Scandal!”, Head of Local Content Ziyanda Mngomezulu said.
Nomhle Nkonyeni appeared in numerous South African television productions including, Tsha Tsha and the 2007 mini-series Society, to mention a few.
In 2017, she joined Scandal! as Lulama Langa, mother to Siseko Langa, played by Hlomla Dandala.
In April, Nkonyeni was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in silver – a prestigious honour by President Cyril Ramaphosa, for excellence in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism or sport.
